SECURE BOOKING

Charge Policy (Secure Bookings)
The Secure Booking is the most popular reservation type. Credit card details are required for this type of booking as the first night's payment is charged at the time of booking. This secures the room for the time of your intended stay and guarantees your room upon arrival. If you stay is longer than one night, the balance is charged at check out.

Cancellations / Non Arrivals (Secure Bookings)
Please note that any cancellation or failure to show on the booked date, will incur an Administration/Cancellation Fee equivalent to that first night's stay. (please see our reasons below)

TENTATIVE BOOKING

Charge Policy (Tentative Bookings)
The Tentative Booking does not require the guest to supply credit card details or make an upfront payment.

The Tentative Booking option is for guests who do not have a credit card (and intend to pay with cash on arrival) or for those who are unsure of their plans and may not want to commit to making the first night's payment at the time of booking.

Because the Park Lodge Hotel doesn't receive a guarantee that the guest will arrive, the tentatively booked room remains on the market and may be sold to another guest who choses to make a secure booking (via credit card/cash on arrival).

If the room is sold, the Park Lodge Hotel will immediately seek a vacancy with another similarly priced hotel in case the guest with the tentative booking does arrive (or phones from the airport).

The aim of the Tentative Booking is to free the guest from being charged the first nights stay (if plans change) while providing a certain level of security knowing he/she will have a room either at the Sydney Park Lodge Hotel or be provided with a similarly priced alternative upon arrival in Sydney. This will save the guest from having to frantically seek a hotel upon arrival.

Cancellations / Non Arrivals (Tentative Bookings)
The Park Lodge Hotel offers this as a free service to potential guests and while we attempt to arrange suitable alternative accommodation in the event of the Park Lodge Hotel becoming fully booked, the Park Lodge Hotel:

does not guarantee, commit or accept liability for any financial expenses or inconveniences incurred in this arrangement.

cannot be held responsible if the alternate accommodation is not to the guest's liking.

Upon making a tentative booking, it is understood the guest:

will not incur any cancellation fee if he/she fails to show.

will not incur any additional fees or charges for making a Tentative Booking.

will not incur a fee if the guest chooses not to accept the alternate hotel (and chooses to make his/her own arrangements.)

will accept sole responsibility for any/all additional costs including, but not limited to, any difference in room tariffs, transportation etc. if the Park Lodge Hotel cannot accommodate the guest upon arrival.

By making a tentative booking it is understood the guest accepts and will comply with the above booking and cancellation policy

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We suggest you consider travel insurance to cover any losses incurred if unforeseen circumstances force you to alter your travel plans.

NOTE:

Prices and booking procedures above are subject to change without further notice and may vary in special event periods. Naturally, prices are fixed at the rate agreed to at the time a booking confirmation is made.

REASONS FOR CANCELLATION POLICY

As a small, 20-room hotel, we need to sell most of our rooms each night to stay in business.

Unfortunately, when it becomes apparent a guest has failed to show, it's usually too late to resell the room and subsequently we loose a large portion of our revenue. This is particularly disappointing since we turn away all subsequent bookings and then find ourselves with empty rooms. This loss is unrecoverable.

Unfortunately, we are not large enough to over-book as the major hotels (and airlines) do to cover the "no show" factor and we don't believe it's fair to raise our rates for guests who do show.

We have therefore adopted a “first night charge” policy – common in many hotels world-wide. A "first night charge" policy means we charge the first night’s stay to the given credit card at the time of booking. This charge secures a booking for the first night and, if your stay is longer than one night, the balance is charged at check out.

By doing this we can keep our rates down. This also enables us to stay in business and provide our guests with a service we believe is among the friendliest and most helpful in Sydney.

Thank you for your understanding.
